Boschung America LLC conducts Surface Condition Management symposiums and seminars throughout North America. These programs are designed to educate the attendees on products and systems available to aid in combating winter weather related surface condition issues.
To date, seminars have been conducted in New York, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Washington and Alaska. We have also conducted seminars in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and British Colombia.

Boschung CH is currently implementing the largest Maintenance Decision Support System (MDSS) project in the world. Using standard hardware and software for RWIS data, vehicle position, spreader and plow information, and mobile road condition data this data, combined with local weather forecast, will be utilized to produce pro-active treatment recommendations prior to experiencing a winter weather event. The scope of the project, located in Austria, is over 700 RWIS and 1,500 miles of roadway. The project is expected to be partially on line by winter of 2007-2008. Download Power Point.
micro-FAST taking off – Boschung’s newest automated anti-icing spray system the micro-FAST has now been installed in four states; Pennsylvania (2005), Vermont/New Hampshire (2006), Montana (2006) and Alaska (2006). Early results show impressive roadway coverage and a total system cost reduction of 20-30% over conventional (disk) FAST systems.
Colorado gets first micro-FAST – Colorado DOT will experience first hand the effectiveness and reliability of the micro-fast when their first micro-system gets installed this summer on I-25 near Fort Collins. This system, originally specified as a center-lane spray disk system, was changed to incorporate the micro-spray to provide minimal lane closures and maximum worker safety. |
